Yesterday, after a phone call with Donald Trump, Ford announced that instead of building a plant and moving jobs to Mexico to lower their costs, they are keeping jobs in America and expanding their plant in Michigan. Following that, Donald Trump tweeted a stern message to General Motors: “Make in U.S.A. or pay big border tax!”
However, Paul Ryan disagrees with Donald Trump: “No. No, we’re not going to be raising tariffs. We think tax reform is the better way of addressing imbalances…”
So what do you think?
Do you agree with Donald Trump that we should “buy American and hire American,” which would include increasing border taxes for companies wanting to send jobs outside of the United States?
Or do you agree with Paul Ryan that tax reform is the best way to allow companies to keep their jobs inside the United States?
