There is a problem determining exactly what a “moderate Muslim” is. Most would probably hazard a guess that such a person would practice the Islamic faith to one degree or another, but would swear off any connection to violent Muslim sects or any personal acts of violence in the name of their faith. In other words, they would not be jihadists intent on using violence to advance their religion.
No doubt such peaceful Muslims exist, and for that we need to be thankful. If they were all violent maniacs such as the suicide bombers or jihadists among their faith, whole nations would be in a state of civil war. However, it must be remembered that those who hold to a militant form of Islam do not always identify themselves as such, preferring to keep that part of their background hidden for obvious reasons.
Could Michigan be about to elect such a man as its next governor? It’s likely Abdul El-Sayed will at least win the Democratic nomination. He portrays himself as a moderate Muslim, even basking in being considered “the next Obama,” and claiming that his religion is “irrelevant” as relates to his suitability to be governor. Yet a closer look at his affiliations paints a different picture.
“Despite the media putting out puff piece after puff piece, painting El-Sayed as a kind, compassionate, freedom-loving American, his disturbing past that groomed him as a future leader has been revealed. According to PJ Media, El-Sayed was vice-president of the Muslim Brotherhood front-group Muslim Students Association (MSA) during his time at the University of Michigan. The MSA is confirmed to have been established in the U.S. as an organization dedicated to overthrowing the Constitution and establishing Sharia law by using Muslim affiliates to infiltrate the branches of U.S. government.
“‘It is the exact same thing as Barack Obama in Chicago in the early 2000s,’ said Secure Michigan spokesman Dick Manasseri, according to WND. ‘He’s young, attractive, he does not give out a lot of information, he speaks in platitudes about celebrating inclusiveness and diversity. How could any good progressive Democrat vote against that in good conscience?’ asks Manasseri. ‘He’s very well packaged,’ Manasseri said. ‘He’s far more accomplished than Barack Obama. Obama was not this accomplished, they connected him to certain foundations and his candidacy took off.'”
The question is whether Michigan voters are going to be duped. You cannot have the affiliations with organizations, some violent, that support the replacement of our Constitution with Sharia law and be suitable for any office in this country. Hence, his claim that his religion is “irrelevant” must be called into question.
Our Constitution and Sharia law are two very different legal systems that create two very different societies. The question is not how young, progressive Democrats could not support and vote for Mr. El-Sayed. The question is how those Democrats, and anyone else for that matter, who support women’s rights or religious freedoms could vote for someone whose religion supports neither.
Anyway, we’ve already had one “Obama” in political leadership. And that was more than enough.
