Over the past several decades, when Democrat presidents have been in office, the welfare rolls were allowed to swell to huge numbers as more and more people lived off of public assistance. The option to apply their talents, abilities, and ambition toward meaningful work was not on their radar, as government time and time again made it easier to apply for welfare than for a job.
As a result, we now have generations of welfare leeches who refuse to work at a legitimate job and do nothing but wile away their days, surviving on government handouts and increasing the public debt by producing more lazy, hungry mouths to feed.
President Trump has come up with a solution that just might reduce the burden on taxpayers by signing a law that allows states to require welfare recipients to take a drug test in order to qualify for benefits.
From Joe For America:
In the past, one might have said for a single person in poverty with a child born out of wedlock, “it pays for her NOT to work.” Welfare benefits provided to that person can include funds for housing, medical, phones, clothes and food. In most cases that single mother on welfare benefits, is often better off financially than a young student coming out of college with a four year degree. When a single mother on public assistance gets more in benefits than a young college student with a degree, the welfare system is broke!
Trump recently told conservatives that “it’s time for all Americans to get off welfare and get back to work.” He adds, “You’re going to love it.”
In what was quite possibly the opening salvo on welfare leeches, Trump was ready to sign a bill passed by Congress that would allow states to perform drug tests on those applying for unemployment benefits, WITI reported.
Under President Barack Obama, states weren’t allowed to test applicants for drugs unless they were applying for a job that already had mandatory drug testing. However, there’s a new sheriff in town — and he’s backed by a Republican-controlled Congress that, while far from perfect, is at least more likely to pass common-sense legislation like this than any legislative body under the control of people like former House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
Although there is no actual timetable for Trump to sign the bill, indications from the White House are that he will definitely sign it as soon as it hits his desk!
