Laws are meant to be obeyed by everyone, otherwise there is no justice. This is a concept complete lost on the Clintons, of course, who abhorred the idea that no one is above the law. Their careers have been based largely on the idea that they are above the law. The question is whether that idea will ever be proven false.
For all the accusations that have been made against President Trump and his administration, the fact remains that we are witnessing two standards. One for the president and another for his predecessor as well as the Clintons. This is the very thing that causes a loss of respect for the law.
Recall the infamous and highly suspicious half-hour meeting between Bill Clinton and Attorney General Lynch on her plane as it sat on the tarmac. One must be incredibly naive to think they chatted about grandchildren as opposed to any ongoing investigations of Hillary. Perhaps we will find out as Congress has demanded to see a memo about that meeting.
Hillary is reported to have remarked during the campaign that if Donald Trump were to win the election, “we will all hang.” For once in her life, she made have told the truth.
“According to The Daily Caller, Texas. Rep. Pete Sessions said that in addition to the alleged memo involving the president’s request to drop the investigation against former National Security Advisor Flynn, he also wants Comey to turn over all memos relating to Lynch’s infamous tarmac meeting with former President Bill Clinton last summer.
“‘If The New York Times has (Comey’s memo) that means we’re going to be able to see it and I would assume that would be fair. I assume that Mr. Comey also kept, if he’s disturbed by the same memos, that he gave to or about when Mrs. Clinton’s husband appeared in the jet with the attorney general,’ Sessions said Tuesday.”
These are documents that should be made available for Congressional inspection. The meeting between Mr. Clinton and Mrs. Lynch was incredibly suspicious at the time, although one must assume the Clintons believed their typical ability to function outside and above the law would cover them again. But perhaps not this time.
“The New York Times said that the former FBI director ‘described all of his contacts with the president and the White House … in detailed memos he wrote at the time and gave to his aides.'”
Mr. Comey has certainly been in the middle of political controversy. With Hillary already blaming him for her loss, should it turn out that he kept notes that revealed pressure put on Mrs. Lynch by Bill Clinton to quash any investigation into Hillary’s crimes, she’s going to have one more reason to despise the former FBI director.
And Americans will finally have something for which to thank him.
