The Democrats have been so desperate to find some dirt on Donald Trump with which to impeach him and end his presidency.
Because of this, the Obama administration was willing to put all of their trust in a false and unverified report from a dossier compiled by a foreign intelligence agent, Christopher Steele.
Now, Steele isn’t backing up that falsified 35-page dossier and, for all practical purposes, is changing his story, saying that the information shouldn’t have been published until it was confirmed as being reliable. As a result, the man that Steele alleged in his report to be the Russian hacker, Aleksej Gubarev, is suing both Steele and BuzzFeed, the news outlet that published the unverified story, for defamation.
From Independent Journal Review:
The scandalous ‘dossier’ on Donald Trump that was leaked to reporters and published by BuzzFeed was unverified, “raw intelligence,” according to the former spy responsible for it.
Now, Christopher Steele is also blaming the news outlet that published the salacious, 35-page report and an alleged hacker for the whole sordid episode, which blew up right before the presidential inauguration.
The ‘dirty dossier,’ linked to a Democratic opposition research outfit called Fusion GPS, was widely believed to be flawed — especially when Trump’s attorney, one of the dossier’s targets, was alleged to have had a secret meeting with Russians in Prague and was verifiably in the U.S. at the time.
According to Washington Times reporter, Rowan Scarborough, the former British agent isn’t sticking to his original story:
Mr. Steele acknowledges that the part of the 35-page dossier that identified Mr. Gubarev as a rogue hacker came from “unsolicited intelligence” and “raw intelligence” that “needed to be analyzed and further investigated/verified.”
The Washington Times reports that Steele blamed BuzzFeed News and the man for whom he alleged hacked the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Aleksej Gubarev. The Daily Mail reports that Gubarev is suing both BuzzFeed and Steele for defamation.
The report raises questions about the degree of confidence that the FBI had in the dossier. And that level of confidence is important because the FBI reportedly relied on the dossier in a September application for a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
It all boils down to the fact that false information was used by the FBI to justify a whole lot of spying on Donald Trump and his staff, all for the purpose of slandering him and destroying his presidency. If any wrongdoing has been committed, it hasn’t been Trump who’s responsible. It’s the Obama “deep state” cronies in cooperation with the Democratic party machinery that should be investigated and outed as a bunch of corrupt, power hungry sleazeballs!
