The practice of politics is in part an exercise in persuasion. It could take the form of framing one’s positions to make them appealing to the electorate. It also includes unsavory behavior such as lying and engaging in character assassinations against one’s opponents. Then there is the “get out the vote” effort. That’s no more than encouraging supporters to get to the polls and vote rather than just ignoring the whole thing.
Mr. Obama and his liberal allies have added another technique to their campaign strategy. This would be encouraging illegal immigration, welfare distribution to such illegals in sanctuary cities, and then finding a way to let them vote. The theme that links all parts of this strategy together is illegality. Yet, when practiced aggressively, it can be an effective way to generate votes for Democratic candidates.
Obama was an advocate and enabler of this strategy. He extended the time that illegals could live in America. The goal was to get them to the polls, and this sort of thing takes time. Lax verification of voter registration needs to be implemented as well. Nevertheless, he worked to insure the supply of illegals would be there. In fact, he blocked over 500,000 illegals from deportation. He simply thwarted law enforcement from doing their jobs.
“Learning that he blocked over 500,000 illegal aliens because he chose to not enforce deportation should be classified as an attack on all Americans.
“According to the Washington Examiner,
“‘The massive backlog is being tackled by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but the sheer numbers — bigger than the populations of Atlanta or Sacramento — is overwhelming the agency’s enforcement and removal department.’
“‘This week as ICE and other immigration officials reviewed successes under President Trump, a reporter asked Matthew T. Albence, executive associate director for enforcement and removal operations, if he knew the number of outstanding deportation orders. The conversation went this way: Albence: “Ballpark is going to be around 550,000.” Reporter: “Whoa. Why is it so high?” Albence: “Well for a large part of the last four or five years we’ve been unable to take enforcement action against those individuals.”‘”
One would think that obstructing law enforcement is itself a crime. If so, and if this immigration official is telling the truth, Mr. Obama is an unindicted criminal. Criminal offenses aside, he certainly was working assiduously to make sure the supply of future Democratic voters was plentiful.
Ann Coulter explains the situation:
.@AnnCoulter: Part of the reason for the hysteria from the left, the media, the deep state, the swamp. They were just about to tip the country. 4 more years of illegal immigrants & legal immigrants and the entire country would be the state of California. So we really need Trump pic.twitter.com/3VVive0kK4

Mr. Obama’s job was not to build the country nor to improve the lives of its citizens. His goal was not even to enforce its laws. He was to be an agent of liberal changes, using whatever tools were at his disposal. Tools he could use with impunity fully aware that the Democrats in Congress and the mainstream media would run interference for any strategies that included violations of the law.
Dumping millions of illegals into the country to change its culture and to pad Democratic voter rolls was one of Mr. Obama’s priorities.
Hence the hysteria by the left when President Trump directs that existing laws be enforced. Such enforcement of our immigration laws is an assault on a key part of the Democrats’ path to power.
It’s just as simple as that.
