It’s interesting how often observing a small offense can lead to an arrest for something much larger. One example would be a car being pulled over for speeding, only to be discovered to be carrying drugs or some other illegal cargo. You would think that drug-runners would be especially careful about observing traffic laws, but such is not always the case.
In a similar way, when a group of Muslims were observed to be throwing litter out of their car, it turns out that what they had in the car was far more serious than hamburger wrappers. Yet it was a citizen who observed the littering who led the police to the discovery.
It turns out out the police discovered a hand grenade, guns, and bomb making equipment in the vehicle.
These criminals’ undoing began when a citizen observed them littering and flagged down the police. The Star Tribune relates the story.
“According to police, a man walked by a parked car in north Minneapolis about 5 p.m. Thursday and confronted the people inside after they threw food wrappers on the ground. They ignored him until he paused to get the car license number. The men then got out of the car and indicated they had guns, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday.”
This man must have a real passion against littering. But the strange part is that the occupants revealed they had guns in the car.
“The man flagged down officers, the complaint says, but the men from inside car continued to yell at him and resisted the officers’ attempts to control the situation.”
“Inside, the officers found a hand grenade, handgun, assault rifles and magazines and a large quantity of ammunition, the complaint said. They also found cellphones, computers and electronics equipment, including drone parts.”
How they got hold of a hand grenade was not revealed, but the rest of the parts are fairly common and could be used to make bombs.
One man was arrested in connection with this. “Abdullah N. Alrifahe, 27, of Minneapolis, was charged with a gross misdemeanor for carrying a pistol in public without a permit. In December, he was convicted of the same offense….”
Given the presence of various exhortations to violence that are contained within the Koran, it’s not hard for Muslims who are so inclined to lift those injunctions and use them as a justification for violence. The problem is preventing them from doing so.
