Another day, another threat from North Korea. The leader of that rogue nation, Kim Jong-un, is not one for diplomacy or measured responses. But just as we on the Right view this maniac through the lens of sane people, the loons on the Left view our president as a maniac bent on the destruction of North Korea. I ask you, then, “How many missiles have we been test firing? How many times did we say that we now have the capability of hitting the East Coast of North Korea or the capital?
Oh, right…zero. So why then is the Left so convinced that Donald Trump has been the one to escalate this war of words with the short, squat idiot who believes he is a God incarnate? Because any other explanation would not fit with the agenda that the Democrat National Committee (DNC) would put forth. Nor would the Party of the Jackass be able to rant on the floor of the House and the Senate.
The United States, however, has not been complacent. Between the daily briefings of the Secretary of Defense, General James “Mad Dog” Mattis and his Chiefs of Staff, the president and his Cabinet, America has been on the watch for anything untoward from that nation. The South Korean officials have also been vigilant. In addition to watchfulness, the US just bolstered its claim that it’s willing to pay back with fire and fury by sending a second nuclear warship, the USS Roosevelt aircraft carrier, to the Korean Peninsula!
A NUCLEAR-powered US aircraft carrier with 7,500 seamen on board is expected to join the build-up of warships amassing near North Korea.
The USS Theodore Roosevelt, a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, is en route to the western Pacific after leaving San Diego port last week.
The Roosevelt will focus on maritime security operations in the Pacific and Middle East, the US military announced.
But the…$4.5billion…warship, known as “the Big Stick”, has been sent to boost US defense on the Korean peninsula, according to South Korean media.
It is expected to arrive in region in the coming weeks amid fears North Korea is about to test another missile or nuclear weapon.
Admiral Steve Koehler, a strike group commander on the ship, said the 7,500 sailors and marines on the vessel are “ready as a war fighting force”.
“The US Navy carrier strike group is the most versatile, capable force at sea,” he said in a statement before the ship’s launch.
The USS Ronald Reagan is currently conducting joint military exercises with Japanese military near Okinawa.
A US military helicopter crash landed in Okinawa earlier today just hours after exercises kicked off.
The Regan will take part in joint drills with South Korea later this month.
Tensions have been reaching fever pitch on the Korean peninsula in recent days with the US holding a series of military drills.
Six US planes – including a “nuclear sniffer” and two Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers – took part in the brazen show of force last night.
The provocative move came after Trump suggested military action against North Korea may be the only option to solve the crisis.
It is no secret that the North Koreans are not prepared to capitulate or tone down the rhetoric. After a failed visit to Pyongyang, where a Russian member of Parliament attempted to convince the North Korean leader to back off, he stated to the Russian press agency that Jong-un was not about to stop engaging in “bellicose rhetoric.”
That being said, it is heartening that both the Chinese and the Russians have been actively supporting the sanctions against North Korea imposed by the United Nations. Too often, those nations have supported the regime despite its saber-rattling. However, Iran continues to support the crazed North Korean leader, of course, which may still result in the dissolution of the Obama-initiated nuclear deal.
