Once again, we learn that former President Obama shafted the American people on his way out the door, literally on Donald Trump’s inauguration day.
We knew that Obama had dumped a ton of money into Palestine right before Trump took the Oath of Office, but we just found this interesting piece of information out.
On his last day in office, Obama authorized a $418 billion weapons sale to Kenya, which was approved by the State Department. Congress was privately notified on January 19.
Via Proud Conservative:
The sale: Intended to benefit Kenya in its missions against the terrorist group al-Shabaab, allowing it to buy 14 weaponized crop-duster-like planes. The problem: The contract to produce was awarded as a “sole-source” contract to New York-based and large defense firm, L3 Technologies, which has never produced such weaponized crop-duster-like planes.
However, IOMAX USA Inc., a much smaller and perfectly capable, disabled veteran-owned company in North Carolina – who already makes and costed out the same 14 planes at only $237 million dollars, mind you – was not even considered.
It sounds like political chicanery where Obama was paying back a favor, maybe? He always has played fast and loose with public funds like it was his own private little treasure trove!
Proud Conservative continued:
“It looks like politics,” said Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) in a phone interview with Breitbart News on Monday. “Why are they sending it to someone that’s produced zero, for twice the price? This is inappropriate.” Inappropriate indeed.
“Our first interest is to look out for jobs in the district. These are guys who are cutting sheet metal and doing rivets at the same time as those who are installing weaponized system…It’s a whole work force down there,” Budd said. “It’s infuriating that they’d be cut out of a deal like this.” Infuriating indeed.
“They have to earn this deal on their own,” he added. “We can’t get the deal for them. But we want them to have a fair shot at it…They shouldn’t catch the brunt of politics.”
Budd and other Lawmakers suspect that “Big Safari,” an Air Force acquisition office, guided the contract to L3. While there is currently no evidence to substantiate any political intervention by “Big Safari,” it certainly wreaks of it. As a result, Budd, along with several other GOP congressmen are already planning to request a non-partisan investigation into this matter.
It was perfectly legal for Obama to authorize the sale of the planes to Kenya, but the sneaky way he did it makes us wonder what other little deals he might have made that we don’t know about yet.
For all we know he could have sold the White House to Saudi Arabia or the nuclear launch codes to Iran! There’s no telling what we’ll find out in the near future!
