It’s usually polite practice to avoid bringing a president or ex-president’s wife into the nasty debates that are part of our political scene. Their lives have been disrupted enough by the job their husband has without having that nastiness dumped on them as well.
However, there are exceptions. For example, Hillary Clinton burst on the political scene when Bill was in the White House with all the grace of a train wreck. Since she waded into the debate with such ferocity and intensity that she didn’t mind being called the nation’s first “co-president,” then she, by her actions, made herself a proper target of political debate. And such she has been ever since.
Mrs. Obama did not engage the political debate as first lady the way Hillary did. Yet she did involve herself in matters such as her ill-conceived and ultimately failed school lunch program. She was also famous for her vacations and their cost to the taxpayers. So perhaps she loves a good party. Anyway, a video is popular on the internet showing her at Beyonce’s birthday party enjoying herself to a degree and in a fashion that was probably positively correlated with the amount of liquor she appears to have consumed.
“The video was reportedly recorded at Beyoncé’s private birthday bash back in 2016, and it appears that fame-monger Michelle got an invite to the exclusive party.”
The Daily Mail reports that “[n]ever-before seen footage of Beyoncé’s private birthday party was leaked online Friday and former first lady Michelle Obama definitely got an invite.
“Two videos were posted to The Beyhive’s fan account on Twitter.
“The first video showed the R&B superstar, her sister Solange, and the former first lady saying ‘Bye Felicia!’ to what appears to be a cellphone camera.
“Solange and Queen Bey were wearing party glasses as they all waved to the camera. [Source: Daily Mail]”
Here’s the video for your consideration.

If you are wondering who or what “Bye, Felicia” refers to, the Urban Dictionary is some help: “When someone says that they’re leaving and you could really give two sh*ts less that they are. Their name then becomes ‘felicia,’ a random b*tch that nobody is sad to see go. They’re real name becomes irrelevant because nobody cares what it really is. Instead, they now are “felicia.'”
It’s not entirely clear how, or even if, knowing the definition of that phrase is of any value to you whatsoever.
What’s to be said about the way Mrs. Obama chose to comport herself while she was the first lady?
There are many women who have been phenomenal first ladies as well as leaders of nations. Ladies deserving of great respect for the grace with which they conducted themselves. Nancy Reagan and Margaret Thatcher come to mind immediately.
It is unlikely, however, that they ever behaved in such a fashion as did Mrs. Obama at this party. And at that point this article will end before something very ungracious is written regarding Mrs. Obama.
