Within one hundred days of taking office, Donald Trump will have hopefully eliminated every trace of Obama’s awful presidency. Every unlawful executive order, every power grab, every attempt to take the guns and insult the faith of millions of Americans – each one erased, and replaced with the brilliant financial thinking of a smart businessman and a true patriot.
And if that’s not enough good news, it’s not just Obama’s measures on the chopping block.
It’s also Michelle’s.
It’s no secret Michelle Obama’s school lunch initiative was a disaster from the beginning. But until now, it’s been forgotten, hidden under the pile of scandals and bad decisions that marked the rest of Obama’s administration. A group of Republicans in Congress plan to change that. And it couldn’t come soon enough.
The group is called the House Freedom Caucus, and they’ve got big plans – Michelle’s lunch program is just one of several of the many dozens of financially irresponsible, anti-freedom, and downright stupid laws to be cut, defunded, or repealed. And all within the first one hundred days of taking office.
Take heart, Americans. Soon we’ll all be breathing much easier.
From Conservative Tribune: According to Politico, the House Freedom Caucus, a powerful group of Republican lawmakers in the lower chamber, is urging Congress to end first lady Michelle Obama’s hated school lunch program.
A document released on the website of Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., called for the repeal of certain parts of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act Of 2010, the legislative bill that helped enshrine Michelle Obama’s signature program into law. It’s part of a wider initiative called released under the title “First 100 Days: Rules, Regulations, and Executive Orders to Examine, Revoke and Issue.”
The House Freedom Caucus is exactly the kind of no-nonsense, clear-cut legislative team that America needs working with Trump. Their problems with Michelle’s program are mathematically precise and clear as day. “Kids aren’t eating the foods, industries can’t comply with the standards, and schools are wasting money.”
This is conservatism in a nutshell, folks – do what works, and do what is right. And the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act doesn’t work. Kids are not eating, food is being wasted, and taxpayers are spending a great deal more for these “healthy” results – although it should be pointed out that food isn’t generally considered ‘healthy’ if it’s not eaten. And schoolkids are throwing out food by the truckload, the very fruits and vegetables they’ve been ordered to eat. Which shouldn’t come as a surprise – when we were ordered to do something as kids, what did we do?
Ignore the order, of course. That’s what kids do. That’s what we all did. Whoever created Michelle’s lunch program clearly had no experience with children. Just look at this lunch – it’s disgusting!
If Trump and the brave legislators at the House Freedom Caucus have their way, both the Obamas will have little to no destructive legacy left after January 20. And, quite possibly, our school kids will start eating again, like normal children.
I’ve said it before, and I’ve said it again – January 20 can’t come soon enough.
