Would it be possible for someone to be the most highly trusted associate and assistant of Hillary Clinton and not be aware of any alleged offenses that Mrs. Clinton might be committing. To address the question more directly, if Hillary were to go down for corruption, who would she pull down with her, either intentionally or unintentionally, other persons.
This is not an academic question. We’re looking at a woman here who has been under constant suspicion of criminal acts for decades. What is remarkable is that she has managed, so far, to avoid indictment. Is she guilty of divulging classified information to foreign interests in return for contributions to the Clinton Foundation? And if she is, and the evidence supporting this conclusion is strong, who else knew or assisted in such criminal acts? When committing crimes against your country, it doesn’t get much more serious than this.
Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm famous for pursing public officials with its Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits to pry damning information about public officials from U.S. government sources, has released information implicating Huma Abedin in assisting Hillary as she distributed classified information to donors to the Clinton Foundation. This is the familiar “pay to play” scandal as it has been called. The coverup has been massive, and for obvious reasons. If true, we’re dealing with felonies piled on top of felonies. So will both Hillary and Huma go down?
“Judicial Watch today released 1,606 pages of documents from the U.S. Department of State revealing repeated use of unsecured communications for classified information and numerous examples of Clinton Foundation donors receiving special favors from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s staff.
“The documents, containing emails from the unsecure, non-government account of Huma Abedin, Clinton’s then-deputy chief of staff, also show Clinton or her staff expressing interest in visiting Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez and North Korean dictator Kim Jung II.
“The documents included 91 Clinton email exchanges not previously turned over to the State Department, bringing the known total to date to at least 530 emails that were not part of the 55,000 pages of emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department, and further contradicting a statement by Clinton that, ‘as far as she knew,’ all of her government emails had been turned over to the State Department.”
We predict a Hillary response to this of, “Oh, I must have forgotten about those extra 530 emails. After all, anyone requested to turn over so much material would naturally miss a few.” That is, if she responds to questions at all.
A thorough and unbiased investigation, free of political machinations, into all of Hillary’s alleged scandals and corruption is all that is being requested here. As difficult as it might be to imagine, she is, after all, “innocent until proven guilty.”
In other words, treat her like anyone else. That goes for Huma and the rest of her associates as well.
The problem is powerful politicians, especially those with damning information on others, have been known to skate, thereby avoiding the sort of criminal investigations average citizens would have experienced. It is likely that the Clintons have been in that category for decades. The question is whether they can keep the exercises in obfuscation going.
“‘Pay to play, classified information mishandling, influence peddling, cover ups – these new emails show why the criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s conduct must be resumed,’ stated Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton. ‘The Trump Justice Department and FBI need to reassure the American people they have finally stopped providing political protection to Hillary Clinton.'”
The object here is to gather and reveal evidence of Hillary’s alleged criminality in quantities that would be impossible for the Justice Department and FBI to ignore. Failure to conduct aggressive but impartial investigations in the face of such overwhelming evidence of guilt must be seen as nothing more than what such a failure would be: the replacement of justice with partisan politics, and the placement of Hillary, and Bill, for that matter, above the law.
In other words, the issue must be forced with such vigor that the only persons left to object to the investigation and indictments would be Hillary, her closest associates such as Huma, and loons of the left such as Nancy Pelosi.
That would be justice.
