Just who was Mr. Obama spying on, and with whom did he share any information he might have unearthed? Recall that the president has incredible intelligence assets as his disposal, and it would be naive to think that Mr. Obama didn’t use them to his advantage.
While it would be nice to think that there are checks to prevent such political manipulation of our intelligence agencies, that would be a naive belief as well.
Now it comes out via Judge Napolitano that not only might Obama have spied on senators but on the Supreme Court justices as well.
Here’s the potentially damning information from Napolitano:
“Judge Napolitano: ‘Justice Scalia told me that he often thought the court was being surveilled. And he told me that probably four or five years ago…If they had to unmask Senator Paul’s name to reveal a conversation he was having with a foreign agent and the foreign agent was hostile to the United States they can do that. That’s not what he’s talking about. They’re talking about unmasking him when he’s having a conversation with his campaign manager when he’s running in the Republican primary.'”
Here’s the video of the interview in question:
While the digital and internet revolutions have brought incredible benefits, there has been at least one cost, and that would be our privacy. If the government, or some enterprising crooks want to know something about us, they probably can.
What possess politicians near or at the top of power structure to engage in such tactics? Paranoia? Political expediency? Just because they can?
Probably all of those and several more. It would be nice to see Mr. Obama answer for this. Judge Napolitano suggests that he could be subpoenaed and forced to answer questions about this under oath.
Does the Justice Department have the guts to haul a former president before a court to accomplish this?
What do you think? Should Obama be held accountable? Comment below!
