Within the Obama administration was a select group of Muslim sympathizers who made a point of turning a blind eye to all the atrocities committed in the name of Allah and allowing very lucrative deals, like the Iran Nuclear Deal, to funnel billions of dollars without the consent of the Congress into the hands of terrorists and terrorist-employing governments.
Hezbollah has been a frequent favorite recipient of the riches that were lavished on the Iranian government by the generosity of Barack Hussein Obama and his Jackass Brigade. With that, the new administration has been working toward undoing at least part of the extensive damage that the former administration did to our foreign affairs, especially in respect to our allies, like Israel and Great Britain.
With an insinuation that Trump has decided to end the lucrative Iran Nuclear Deal with the friends of Obama, the president has also laid out an agenda of naming the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. That nation has pushed back on the administration, stating that they will in turn name the American military as a terrorist organization, targeting it as they do ISIS!
The Daily Caller:
The head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Sunday that if the U.S. designates the IRGC as a terrorist organization, Iran will in turn designate the U.S. Army as a terror group.
Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of the IRGC, warned that if the “stupid US administration” declares the IRGC to be a terror group, Iran will treat the U.S. Army like the Islamic State, reports Fars News, semi-official media organ of the Iranian regime.
“If reports prove to be true that the stupid US administration intends to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization, then the IRGC will also specify the US army as a group (and target) like ISIL in all parts of the world, specially the Middle-East,” Jafari said.
A senior U.S. administration official told Financial Times that President Donald Trump will designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization some time this week. Trump also reportedly intends to decertify the Iranian nuclear deal struck in 2015, but he will not impose wide-ranging sanctions, preferring instead just to target the IRGC with sanctions. This could entail financial sanctions on anyone who elects to do business with the IRGC.
Jafari also mentioned that if the U.S. slaps on new sanctions, it would be smart for the U.S. to “transfer its regional bases to 2,000km away, that is as far as the range of Iranian missiles.”
The U.S. has numerous military bases within 500 kilometers (310 miles) of Iran, namely in countries like Bahrain, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Notably, the U.S. Treasury Department has already designated the IRGC Qods Force, a wing of the IRGC, a terrorist entity back in 2007, but stopped short of declaring the entire IRGC a terrorist entity.
The veiled threats by the government of a terror-supporting regime are enough to make one wonder how serious they are about their words. To target even once the US military in Afghanistan, Iraq or Bahrain would be a mistake of epic proportions. They are most likely operating under the same pretenses as the North Korean leader who believes he will be shielded from any wrongdoing through the intervention of the UN.
Fortunately, that type of thinking will only worsen their positions of bargaining power after a catastrophe they cannot envision visits upon their doorstep in the form of the United States military. While we may not offer the first strike, they certainly won’t get the chance at a second.
