Jairo Medina, a 62-year-old, single gay man lived in Chelsea, west London, but was originally from Columbia. He had resided in the UK for years and reportedly had attempted to befriend another man, 22-year-old Hani Khalaf, an illegal alien who reported he was from Syria, but was actually from Egypt. He was homeless as well, after having been kicked out of a shelter for violence and criminal activity.
Khalaf made London’s Hyde Park his home and Medina had been visiting with him to try to find him a place to stay and care for him. Friends of Medina have said that he was a very giving person, with citations from the city of London itself for his services to the community. On many different occasions, Khalaf had been arrested for different crimes and had been released from custody afterward, because the deportation board could not act quickly enough.
The Egyptian illegal alien has now been sentenced to 26 years in prison, which will probably be cut short when he is extradited back to his home country…finally…to serve out the rest of his sentence there. It’s unfortunately too late, however, for Mr. Medina, as Khalaf ended up robbing him after bludgeoning him to death!
An illegal immigrant who murdered a carer in London’s Hyde Park had been released on bail six times because he could not be deported, a court heard.
Hani Khalaf, 22, battered 62-year-old Jairo Medina to death before trawling through his belongings and stealing his mobile phone in August last year.
Khalaf was sentenced to a minimum of 26 years in jail as a judge suggested his case should prompt a review of the law.
A retrial at the Old Bailey heard the Egyptian national had sneaked into the country posing as a Syrian refugee and been repeatedly picked up by the authorities during two years sleeping rough and stealing.
Yet he was repeatedly bailed by immigration authorities because of the difficulties in deporting him.
Judge Wendy Joseph QC said Khalaf was sent back into the community time and again and Mr Medina paid for it “with his life”.
She said: “If anyone thinks it right to review it they should have an opportunity to see what the consequences were in this case.
She went on: “It is clear that Hani Khalaf, having absconded, came to the attention of authorities on at least six occasions.
“On each, he was re-bailed because they could not make arrangements for securing his deportation in a reasonable amount of time.”
The result was that Khalaf, with no way of “lawfully maintaining himself”, was released again and again and told to report to authorities, which he never did.
A Home Office spokesman said after the trial: “Foreign nationals who abuse our hospitality by committing crimes in the UK should be in no doubt of our determination to deport them and we have removed more than 37,000 foreign offenders since 2010.
“More than 6,100 foreign national offenders were removed from the UK last year.
“The Home Office will continue to seek Mr Khalaf’s deportation.”
Muslims are consistently held up as the pillars of society and, even when they are breaking the law, Leftists will continue to make excuses for their criminal behavior. In this case, an innocent gay man was murdered and robbed and all we hear out of the Social Justice Warrior crowd is silence.
Perhaps this may change a few minds, but most likely, as in this country, the UK fake news mainstream media will call an immediate blackout to any stories like this so that the populace will never know the truth.
