There are unwritten rules that the Democratic leadership expects members of certain groups to follow. Failure to do so can have unpleasant consequences, especially if you are a well-known figure in American life. So if you are a member of one of these groups and step outside the boundaries, expect to be ostracized or criticized at least.
These groups whose support the Democrats assume would include members of labor unions, gays, blacks, and women. It’s a very presumptive attitude to take, but the Democratic party is counting on these folks to deliver the elections to them by voting for Democrats without exception. It doesn’t matter whether the Democrats have done one helpful thing for these target demographic groups. It’s also highly insulting to these people, treating them as though they cannot figure things out on their own.
Alveda King is the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and as such would be an ideal person in the minds of Democratic leadership to campaign on behalf of Democrats. Their problem is that she’s not a Democrat. In fact, she states that she voted for Donald Trump. The story is enough to give liberals ulcers.
She’s very upfront in her views and recently shared them when, “[i]n an interview this week with ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ host Bill O’Reilly, King explained that even when there were 17 Republicans in the field at the start of the primary campaign, Trump was ‘always’ on her short list based on his conservative political beliefs. In particular, she said, she believed he was right for the presidency when he pledged his support for pro-life policies, including defunding Planned Parenthood.”
These comments from Alveda King are such an affront to so much of the left’s orthodoxy that one hardly knows where to start. But she continues with her rational for supporting Mr. Trump: “King was also impressed by his dedication to ‘bringing jobs back’ because his ideas would ‘help everyone, including African Americans.'”
Picking up on President Trump’s pro-jobs initiative she continued to explain why she supports the president: “‘African-Americans want to work, have good education, peace and security, just like every American,’ she said. ‘The American dream is still alive.'”
You can watch the interview here:
The American Dream is still very much alive. And a strong dream it must be indeed to be able to survive assaults for leftists like Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Obama, and much of the leadership of the Democratic Party. As more Americans realize what a benefit to our country President Trump’s policies are, this spells disaster for the Democrats.
Yet it will go a long way to Making America Great Again. But we’re confident that President Trump is up to the task and will get the job done.
